Project Editor/Senior Project Editor - Modern Foreign Languages
Our client a global leader in educational publishing providing research-based print and digital programmes and e-learning resources for primary and secondary schools is looking to recruit an adaptable and flexible Project Editor to work on and manage publishing projects (print and electronic) across the Modern Foreign Languages publishing list, from concept through to final publication. This role will work closely with Publishers and other relevant departments as part of a team, to ensure modern foreign languages publishing materials are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. Based at their Oxford office this role will involve producing high-quality resources to support teachers and learners of modern languages in UK secondary schools and colleges and is based in the editorial team within the Academic and general Division of PEI Schools and Colleges. Creating, developing and managing the input for a range of MFL products through all stages of the editorial process; briefing freelance editors and maintaining quality of their work; helping to set budgets and schedules and working across the department on print and electronic products as required. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have a good command of the Spanish and/or German languages and a highly developed use of English language; ideally some proven editorial experience within an Educational or Academic publishing environment is desirable; particularly some standard copy-editing or proofreading experience, although we will consider candidates who are looking to forge a career within an educational publishing environment and who would be comfortable working with educational materials.
