Our client in Westlake, Texas needs a Mainframe to Java Developer for a migration from a mainframe OS to a newer systems running Java. The Software Engineer/Developer would be focused on the development and support of the company's next generation Java system running on WebSphere Compute Grid and z/OS. This individual will be working within a team responsible for the design and development of the next generation document composition engine. This Developer will perform system analysis as well as design, develop, test and implement stories related to the development of this new system. Our client is seeking a "team" oriented individual with solid systems analysis and development skills. Experience with Mainframe OS's along with Java programming is ideal. Required: Java Developer with 3-5 years overall development experience Minimum of 2-3 years of Java development Minimum of 2 years of SQL experience Excellent communication skills which are necessary to interface with a wide range of internal customers, system and business partners Self motivated and can work independently or under direction Experience in developing customer correspondence systems (customer account/financial statements, complex customer communications) is highly preferred Experience in high volume/high speed laser print environments would be a plus Graphic design experience could be beneficial Accuracy and ability to multi-task Strong analytical, testing and debugging skills Ability to succeed in a demanding environment Flexible, open minded, and willing to learn and able to collaborate with team and application partners Desired: UNIX/LINUX terminal/shell environment Java IDE experience with Eclipse or RAD XML creation and parsing within Java JUNIT ANT WebSphere Compute Grid DB2 (preferably on MVS) Oracle ClearCase MAVEN DROOLS (Java Business Rules Engine) ILOG (Java Business Rules Engine)
