Hello, I am the owner of an energy services company in Chicago that specializes in lighting retrofit and energy efficient lighting design/project implementation. As part of the design process, our clients typically provide us with floor plans encompassing the spaces which we will be retrofitting/upgrading for new lighting. The objective is to get the area measurements of each room from these floor plans into an organized Excel format so we can run various simulations and design calculations on a room by room basis. We currently do this task in house using take off software (e.g. Take Off Live, etc). We seek to begin outsourcing immediately this task to someone capable of accurately and reliably converting our existing floor plan drawings into MS Excel schedules with a room by room break down of the each area (i.e. "the 4 walls"). There are approximately 200-300, 1-4 story commercial properties (approx 20-30 million SF). The properties are generally rectangular and do not offer many complexities or architectural (or subjective) nuance. Fee for these services is to be determined. We anticipate paying on an hourly or PSF basis and paid on a periodic, ongoing basis as deliverable received from us by freelance.
