We're looking to build a real estate management system to benefit real estate agents and brokers as well as the renter. The site should be developed in a combination of Ruby, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. We'll also be using Heroku and Amazon AWS for hosting/storage. Our site will consist of the broker's backend, the renter's frontend, the renter's backend, and a mechanism for posting a property listing from our site to craigslist (we have a version of this completed, but need to make sure it works with the new site structure). The brokers' backend includes: - Listing management system/database: Creating, viewing, and editing of real estate listings - Ability to confirm or edit showings (integrates w/ the renters side) - User management - Billing/Credit Card - Credit Checks - Editing account details - Contact Management The renters' frontend includes: - A mechanism to search through listings - Ability to refine search through toggles and sliders - Ability to add a listing to a checkout/scheduling cart - Recommendations of similar apartments the user may be interested in based on an weighted scoring for each listing (based on the same broker, then number of rooms, then bathrooms, etc.) - Adding listings to a watch/favorites list The renters' backend includes: - Reviewing favorites/watch lists - Reviewing scheduled listings - Editing account details The mechanism for posting a property includes: - Guiding a broker/agent through the posting process - Populating the appropriate info in the appropriate fields ***NOT automating the process Job Description: Your responsibilities: - Review business requirements working with team members - Perform a technical analysis of requirements - Produce a solid, detailed technical design - Write clean, modular, robust code to implement the desired requirements with little or no supervision - Work with the QA and Customer Support teams to triage and fix bugs with rapid turnaround - Contribute ideas for making the application better and easier to use Your qualifications: - Programming languages: Ruby, PHP, HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript - A work style that is extremely detail oriented - Strong communication skills - A complete Elance profile - References or an established reputation on Elance preferred Desired Skills: CSS HTML JavaScript PHP Ruby on Rails Keywords: Web Programming
