Mainframe Applications Developer ( COBOL, Webaware) The position requires strong experience in COBOL, Webaware, DB2, Java, JavaScript, and XML. Key Job Responsibilities: Review the current systems used to collect the information. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution Ensure solutions (enhancements/modifications/recommendations) integrate efficiently with other application and technologies. Instruct and mentor technical team on the findings and present & walkthrough the findings documents with the project team. As an Application Developer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation. Support the changes/applications post implementation by debugging, fixing, and participating in maintenance releases as prescribed by management. Supply regular progress reports to the project supervisor. Perform other development tasks as assigned by the Project Manager. Key characteristics & Qualifications: Team player and willing to work with the technical team on their technical documents preparation activities. 3-5 years of progressive experience in Information Technology Experience with mainframe based applications built with CICS, COBOL and JCL required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in mainframe programming. State government experience strongly preferred. Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of COBOL applications. Strongly demonstrated skills/knowledge in DB2, Webaware, JAVA script, XML.
