I have an urgent requirement for an experienced Technical Author -FrameMaker to join my Somerset based client's team on a contract basis. The role will focus on using FrameMaker to produce, update and maintain installation manuals for my client's range of products and equipment. You must have previous experience in producing technical information in mechanical or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate for this Technical Author - FrameMaker contract role will have the following skills and experience: - Min five years technical authoring experience in an engineering environment using FrameMaker - Experience as a practising engineer would be an advantage but must have the aptitude to quickly understand a diverse range of products and their applications - Ability to write clear, concise English by producing previous work - Must be methodical and logical, show attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to work using own initiative - Must be able to accurately interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams networks - Ability to suggest meaningful illustrations to substitute for extensive text is a requisite - Good computer skills in the use of appropriate software including Microsoft Windows products. A very good knowledge and recent use of Adobe Frame Maker is essential.
