JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title:Quality Inspector Reporting to:Quality Manager ______________________________________________________ Job Purpose · To guarantee the quality and the conformity of the products in line with customer requirements · To achieve Quality targets (internal and external) set in the Quality policy and QIP and progress towards zero defects. · To enhance the level of quality awareness in the Company · To enhance the knowledge of Quality tools used by employees · To minimise the CNQ and meet company’s Quality targets. Key Responsibilities Key Tasks: · Write CMM programmes to measure components against customer/internaldrawings. · Resolve technical problems affecting the quality of parts and lead continuous improvement activities identified in the Quality Improvement Plan · Validate the installation of new processes or equipment and the Engineering Changes in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers (FMEA’s, Cp, Cpk, PPM & PPAP) · Provide technical assistance to operatives on product and/or process related issues and use of control equipment (CMM, roundness, thread form and associated software) · Control the status and availability of all measuring /control /pokayoke/ packaging instruments/devices and visual standards within the manufacturing areas. · Represent Quality during the development of new products. · Assist the Quality Manager in improving and maintaining Quality Accreditation(s). · Perform in-house calibration on gauges used within the company. · Conduct product/process audits in line with set plans to maintain integrity of the Quality System. Quality: · To assist in the development and implementation of the quality management system and continually improve its effectiveness, in order for the Company to reach the objectives set out in the Quality Policy HSE: · To assist the HS&E Co-ordinator in the implementation of the HSE Management System and take an active role in raising the Company’s HSE performance. Materials / Tools: · Quality systems manual. · ISO / TS 16949 2002. · ISO 14001. · ISO 18001. · General quality assurance methods – SPC, FMEA, trials, audits etc. · World Class Manufacturing Tools – 5s, SMED. Hoshin, Kanban etc. Projects: · Will be required to be a member of projects teams as and when necessary · Will represent the Quality function on the project, and the project in the Quality function · Co-ordinate the work of contributors in the Quality function, including responsibility for the detailed schedule, lead-time and expenses of the work. The successful candidate will be required to work 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm rotating with a pay rate of £13 to £18 per hour dependant on skills and experience.
