Position Title: Sr. Business System Analyst Position Location: Houston, TX. Position Duration: 12+ months Contract Client Industry: Hospital & Health Care Work-Hours: 40hrs per Week Years of Experience: 03+ years Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree Willingness to Travel: None Position Description: The Senior Business Systems Analyst (SBSA) is responsible for leading and/or participating in technical and data analysis in order to develop, implement and support solutions for enterprise business/clinical applications and systems integration and is responsible for participating in functional and technical activities related to the assessment, acquisition, development and implementation of new systems, application programs and databases within the organization. The Senior BSA leads and/or provides technical expertise following industry best practices in defining, recommending, developing, implementing, and supporting solutions for clinical, research, and/or financial applications at client side. The role provides oversight and leadership to project team members, as well as other IT professionals both inside and outside the IS Division. The Senior BSA works with individuals in the department, IS Division, as well as customers outside of the IS Division to provide guidance and alternatives to other analysts in the development of multiple complex solutions. Required Experience: · Requirements Elicitation o Prepares in advanced for elicitation sessions o Has knowledge of and utilizes techniques and tools such as brainstorming, gap analysis, focus groups, observation, As-Is and To-Be workflows to obtain requirements o Consistently works with Stakeholders to determine the business need and high level requirements o Obtain complete, concise requirements with stakeholder approval within designated timeline o Is assertive, defuses tense situations and facilitates requirement gathering sessions o Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. o Coordinates and facilitates work across different departments · Requirements Analysis o Determines other applications effected by new functionality and overlap o Outlines operational and implementation challenges and works to mitigate o Evaluates existing enhancement requests which can be incorporated into current projects o Develops report requirements and strategies for applications o Performs technical assessments and evaluates proposed IT technologies and solutions to determine technical feasibility and compliance with industry and client’s standards. o Maintains current knowledge of requirements/mandates from JCAHO, CMS, Institutional Policies & Procedures and other regulatory/accrediting bodies and incorporates them into the requirements · Requirements Documentation o Documents unambiguous, succinct requirements o Supplements requirements with workflow diagrams o Traces requirements consistently o Efficiently updates documentation throughout review cycles · Requirements Planning and Management o Provides consistent feedback of project status to Project Director o Participates in User Acceptance testing o Maintains effective communication with project team members and management. o Utilizes requirements work plan o Provides estimation and documentation of Business Analyst work · Systems Deployment (Training and Rollout) o Determines learning needs for customer end-users and/or IS team members based on user roles and application functionality o Prepares and conducts continuing education training sessions for users and coworkers, as necessary. o Develops role-based programs and supporting materials for end-user training using principles of adult learning o Coordinates and schedules training sessions with customer groups as needed o Provides go-live support during rollout period Applicant’s Personal Attributes: · Highly self-motivated and directed · Strong customer-service orientation · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects by using appropriate methodologies and tools. · Critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve and encourage others in collaborative problem solving. · Self-starter with the ability to work independently, with moderate supervision
