The role will also involve creating high level and low level designs for a new greenfield global platform based upon the Oracle software stack (Weblogic, SOA Suite, OSB, Exadata). Experience in performance engineering is highly desirable. The role will act as a mentor to others within the development team. My client is looking to adopt lean/agile development methods; practical experience of these would be an asset. You will need to have extensive experience of design leadership - ideally with enterprise systems. Solid industry experience of software (and ideally hardware) architecture, including J2EE, databases, clustering and load balancing, distributed file-systems, storage, virtualization, architecture and design patterns. Extensive experience of object oriented analysis and design. Good knowledge of web application security. Performance testing. Design of performance test frameworks, test strategy, and test reporting. Extensive SOA design and implementation experience. Experience of complex internet applications and/or the finance industry. Middleware deployment and configuration (ideally Oracle Fusion/Weblogic stack). SQL (Preferably Sybase and Oracle) including optimisation of queries. Apache/Tomcat. Unix (Preferably Sun Solaris and/or Oracle Enterprise Linux), UML. It is desirable to have experience with Perl, CGI scripts, BPMN/BPEL, Virtualised Linux deployments, Atlassian tool set, Performance tools and Oracle tools.
