Budget: $1,000 to $2,500 THE STUDENT MAGAZINE From New York to the student life in South Africa, The Student Magazine (TSM) brings readers a global briefing on education. The Student Magazine is an open source publication that provides students with educational material that helps them engage with core curriculum subject matter. Our team applies worldly affairs, business, and culture to core subject matter enabling students to envision the practical use of material taught within the classroom. The Student Magazine explores various teaching methods being used around the world. The Student Magazine presents students with unique tips, resources, and testimonials to help secondary students with the transition into post-secondary education and the workplace. ART DIRECTOR POSITION The Student Magazine is a publication that presents a global briefing on education to both students and educators. Writers from around the world report on local, national, and international educational experiences and various events that shaped their educational pursuits. The Student Magazine explores various teaching methods being used around the world. Our team members specializing in curriculum and teaching methods will present various ways The Student Magazine can be used by teachers within their classrooms to teach students. By publishing both Student and Educator editions, The Student Magazine is read by students, teachers and education administrators around the world. DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, the Art Director will become a senior member of The Student Magazine with the responsibility of overseeing all photographers, artist, and illustrators within the publication. S/he will be responsible for working closely with the Editor and assigning photographers, artist, and illustrators with assignments that correlate with articles. The Art Director must show leadership and vision while assigning team members their roles, have the ability to locate stock photographs that correlate with article content, and must have previous experience in publication layouts. The Art Director will work with the Editor-in-Chief to direct the Layout Professional. The Student Magazine team is a group of dedicated volunteers. This unpaid position allows the applicant to manage a global publication that gives students a unique look at education. A monetary value bonus will be given to the candidate after each edition is published. QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have or currently be obtaining a college diploma/university degree; strong communication skills with the ability to delegate tasks; attention to detail and the ability to meet critical deadlines. The candidate must have working knowledge of Photoshop and various Adobe layout programs. Knowledge of stock photographs, illustrations, and a creative mindset is mandatory. Keywords: Design
