In this project, the candidate will be responsible to deliver industrial cooling design solutions for very high speed silicon photonics module at the component level, board level and system level. The CW will be responsible for - Thermal simulations of the silicon photonics module for both cooling and margining tool designs for silicon photonics - Industrial design of mechanical components/systems for Silicon photonics cooling solutions - Industrial design of mechanical retention mechanisms for cooling solution, temperature margining tool for silicon photonics and small handheld market segments. - Creating detailed mechanical models within 3D CAD software - Performing structural analysis of the mechanical designs - Creating detailed mechanical drawings of heat sinks, retention mechanisms, temperature margining tool assemblies, printed circuit boards, for prototyping and manufacturing - Validating the mechanical designs with mechanical fit check - Converting ECAD models to MCAD models - Presenting and communicating the concept design and results to the lead engineers - Creating documentations for assembly instruction - Minimum 5 years experience with Icepak/Flotherm CFD simulation competency - Pro/E competency and recent experience of Pro/E Wildfire 4.0 / 5.0 - 3 years experience in Finite Element Analysis using Abaqus or Ansys - 4 years hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of mechanical design of PCBs, electronics air cooling and liquid cooling systems, as well as the heat sink retention mechanisms - Recent hands-on experience with industrial designs specifically for aesthetic and end user experience - Experience with sheetmetal, CNC machining, extrusion, and lathing manufacturing processes - Excellent verbal & written communications skills - Experience and knowledge of Pro/E modules (Pro/Sheetmetal, Pro/Cabling, Pro/Mechanica, etc.) - Strong practical knowledge of thermal, mechanical systems and actual platform level designs - Proficient in Allegro Keywords: Other - Technical
