Environment: SugarCRM Ver. 6.4.4 Module: Accounts Need: We need to have the Accounts Edit view modified to add a selectable icon which runs a process which creates unique account numbers. These account numbers will be used as a key value in the Quickbooks accounting system. Account numbers are CaSe SeNsItIvE. Format of an account number: <2UpperAlphaChars>+ ie. Substring(Upper(Accounts.name),1,2)+ NextSeqNumByAlphaKey means lookup for example MI (where the account name was Mickey Mouse) in the next sequence number array/table. If the account name was Donald Duck then you would look up the next sequence number indicated by "DO". Please begin your response with "I have read the specifications completely." Rules: 1) If Accounts.Key1_c is not empty or null, then pop a message that the field must be manually edited. Meaning, that only users with EDIT permissions on that field will be able to manually change the value. Not all users have edit permissions on the field. The utility should run as an administrative level user. 2) The program MUST verify any calculated value is unique, not in any Accounts.key1_c field prior to writing to Accounts.Key1_c for the subject record. 3) If the calculated value is NOT unique, create another. 4) The will always contain the NEXT sequence number to use. 5) If no alpha sequence exists, the utility must add to the table and proceed. In otherwords, a self building table. 6) The utility must ask for a password before generating a new customer number. If a user does not know the password, then no changes will be recorded of any kind. This password will be editable ONLY by an administrative user, can be done with phpMyAdmin if necessary.
