JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Service Manager, Communications Services within our client's team, the Technical Analyst - Communications provides services to implement, support and maintain new and existing systems and technology. The Technical Analyst works independently to create, support and/or maintain efficient technical solutions. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: - Designing, implementing and supporting the configuration of voice and network components (Cisco VoIP routers and Cisco voice applications) - Participating in and leading design meetings and problem resolution - Identifying and gathering requirements - Participating in/leading the collaborative effort to create and execute test and implementation plans - Ensuring relevant technical documentation is produced and maintained and shared within the team - Collaborating with other infrastructure teams to migrate solutions into production and support them - Sharing knowledge and cross-training within the team - Performing Move Add Changes (MACs) within the data/ voice infrastructure - Monitoring and tuning system performance and capacity - Configuring and administering of the VoIP telephony systems - Participating in related application/hardware purchases from vendors - Resolving Tier 1 and 2 problems from system outages through problem/incident ticket assignment and escalating to vendor as required - Providing on-call support as required QUALIFICATIONS: - Completed university degree or 2 year college diploma in related discipline - CCVP or CCIE certification (Please specify certificate number) - Experience designing, implementing and supporting Cisco IP telephony product suite (VoIP Gateways, Call Manager, Voice Mail (Unity Connections), Call Center IPCC or UCCE) and call recording technologies - Experience designing and implementing VoIP solutions and infrastructure, specifically Cisco - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), up to date. - Extensive experience designing, implementing and supporting network infrastructures - Extensive knowledge of routing and switching infrastructure in a LAN/WAN environment, Cisco preferred - Experience implementing and supporting wireless technologies - Experience in capacity planning and performance optimization - Demonstrated ability to configure Cisco data/ voice hardware and software - Previous work experience in QoS technologies and provisioning requirements - Experience with the design, engineering and implementation of a MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) network - Familiarity with Windows server operating systems and Active Directory - Cisco router and switch configuration experience - Exposure to ITIL processes ENVIRONMENT: Call manager and Publisher, 20 locations, 3000 users and call centre hardware at 2 other locations.
