The City Arms has recently been refurbished under new management and is a well known and established, traditional pub located on the Olympic Touch Route at Saltney on the outskirts of Chester. We are currently looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor to join our team and assist with the running of the bar. Contract type Temporary The starting rate is £6.50 per hour. On completion of a satisfactory 12 week probationary period, the post will become full time & permanent with an option for a live in position. The bar is part of a small pub company and there are promotion prospects for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will:- Have at least 1 year’s supervisory experience in the trade in the UK. Have excellent references which can be checked with the referees. Be passionate about giving great customer service. Be knowledgeable about sport. Be punctual. Be hard working. Be energetic & enthusiastic. Have an outgoing personality. Be confident. Be flexible. Speak fluent English. Have great communication skills. Be organised. Be self motivated & driven. Be willing to train & develop. Be able to hold a personal license or already have one. The duties include:- Overseeing the smooth running of the bar Bar & Cellar work. Holding keys Opening & closing the bar including cashing up tills. Complaint handling & ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Staff supervision & training. Stock & Cash control. Stock ordering. Ensuring health & safety of the public & staff. Due diligence & compliance. Light cleaning/maintenance eg. Changing light bulbs. Reporting maintenance issues.
