Payroll & Systems Manager - 1 yr Contract
Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to Project Manage a new systems implementation: Purpose of the post: Enable the delivery of the completed HR & Payroll system project to trained users, on time, within budget and to the required specification. Provide the day-to-day leadership and management of The Project, through all aspects of the project life cycle, co-ordinating The Project team members, and liaising closely with The Director of Human Resources. Manage the key communications for The Project, liaising with The Project team members and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop, track and manage the overall project management plan, setting out the critical path, deliverables and key milestones for success. 2. Ensure that all strands of The Project have a leader and robust project plan with clear objectives, accountabilities and timescales for delivery. 3. Provide a robust framework within which the activities of The Project are undertaken and/or co-ordinated, monitored and accurately reported. 4. Maintain, monitor and control The Project’s budget. 5. Identify and manage The Project’s dependencies; work closely with IT Services to identify the necessary interfaces with other business systems and jointly ensure that the most appropriate way is found for the systems to interact. 6. Identify, assess and manage project risks and issues. 7. Work closely with the project manager and project team and with IT Services to: identify and resolve potential issues; develop and deliver progress reports; and maintain effective relations. 8. Manage the change and transition process from old to new systems, including the introduction of standard operating procedures for the new system. 9. Develop and implement a plan for testing the implementation of the system and ensure it is executed by appropriate parties. 10. Manage the provision of training to all system users and develop guidance and procedural documentation. 11. Co-ordinate the review of key management information reports to ensure compliance/statutory requirements are met. 12. Provide timely progress reports to The Project sponsor, Board and other stakeholders, highlighting key issues and making recommendations for action where necessary. 13. Manage, maintain, complete and distribute The Project documentation. PERSON SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 1. Sound track record of undertaking and/or managing large-scale projects with a significant IT element, within a complex organization; 2. Ability to take a holistic view of a project and its vision yet also grasp the detail; 3. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple project streams; 4. Pro-active, with a "can-do" attitude; and a "hands-on" approach as appropriate; 5. Ability to build effective relationships with, and command the respect of, a wide range of stakeholders, including senior staff members; 6. Demonstrably strong influencing, negotiating and communications skills with the ability to listen and respond to the needs of a wide range of stakeholders at all levels; 7. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in an environment with competing demands; 8. Familiarity with an IT environment and an ability to understand technical IT "language", translating it into actions for the project as required; 9. Impartial approach to conflict resolution; 10. Financial acumen; 11. Competent user of Microsoft Office. Desirable criteria 12. Knowledge of HR and Payroll systems; 13. Professional HR or Payroll experience
