Our client is a leading firm of Accountants. they are a successful organisation and combine award-winning technical expertise with the intuition, insight and confidence gained from their extensive sector experience and a deeper understanding of their clients. We are looking for 2 Tax managers to join our clients offices in either Manchester or Liverpool. These are fixed term contracts working within the Personal Tax Compliance team, preparing personal and business Tax Returns. The successful candidate will be either ATT or CTA qualified or qualified by experience. An Executive demonstrates sufficient technical knowledge to undertake the processing of tax returns and reviewing non complex tax returns within agreed service standards and to assist with the coaching and development of junior staff. Main Responsibilities Clients • manages own client portfolio to agreed service standards • is actively involved in managing client relationships and communicating directly with clients regarding tax compliance matters on the phone or in person where appropriate • engenders trust and respect from the client by ensuring tax returns are processed accurately and delivered to agreed service standards Client take-on / risk management • has an awareness of the firm's risk management procedure and adheres to this • mitigates risks by involvement of senior people and ensures appropriate advice is sought • takes steps to minimise professional risk, including the appropriate documentation of services provided Technical competence • demonstrates sufficient technical knowledge to process and review tax returns • undertakes research relating to technical issues arising from the tax return process • seeks solutions to technical issues and demonstrates a willingness to understand and recognise the breadth of possible technical issues People • is an approachable and respected member of the team who takes a proactive interest in the team's performance and well being • actively seeks opportunities for own development, attends relevant training courses, keeping technical knowledge up to date Operations and results • monitors own time incurred and undertakes analysis as directed • manages work in progress to ensure recoverability targets can be met • supports the manager with the billing process and cash collected in a timely manner • meets own financial targets set.
