Sr. Project Manager Gaithersburg, MD 7 Month Contract Overview: We are currently seeking a Project Manager to lead project teams from initiation to close, to deliver effective solutions that meet our client’s business needs. The role is accountable for determining and delivering solutions to approved budget and schedule commitments while meeting required quality and compliance standards. Responsibilities: · Develop project plans, including activities, resources, costs, roles responsibilities and quality as defined in the IS Project Delivery Methodology (IS PDM) · Manage project budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, risks, change management and status to support effective decisions and project reporting to stakeholders and steering committees · Identify/manage dependencies among projects or initiatives · Manage relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure the effective capturing of business requirements and commitment to project objectives. Responsible for steering/stakeholder meetings, communication of status, issues, risks · Drive effective risks and issues management, ensuring processes are in place and effectively used. Ensure problems resolved and escalate as appropriate · Build a cohesive project team and provide the leadership necessary to maximize the team’s success; provide individual coaching and development of team members as needed · Manage change to project scope, ensure that all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to stakeholders and steering committees · Ensure/develop service transition plans including controlled hand-over into support and maintenance · Ensure the project team adheres to all standards including IS PDM, quality and compliance as well as processes, defined technical capabilities and best practices. Establish project governance and lead Decision Point reviews, member Steering Committee meetings · Ensure expected benefits realization is consistent with project deliverables and clearly understood by stakeholders and project team · Support and reinforce adoption of project management best practices and IS PDM · Typical project costs between $100K - $1M, and a project team up to 10 people Requirements: · 5- 7 years professional work experience with at least 3 years in project management, preferably in IT, with a track record of managing small to medium risk projects simultaneously, while meeting delivery, quality, and compliance standards · Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree desirable · 5 + years managing vendor relationships and managing partner resources · Proven skills and experience managing and controlling $100K-1M project budgets · Strong communications and relationship management skills · Experience managing and leading global project teams desirable · Proficient with MS Office Suite · PMP certification highly desirable Experience: · 3+ years experience in an FDA regulated industry such as pharmaceutical or biotech is highly desirable.
