The candidate will act as a network engineer and have duties including: Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment and devices. Supports administration of CiscoWorks, SolarWinds Orion NPM/APM Plans and supports network infrastructure. Perform troubleshooting using packet & protocol analysis tools. Documents network problems and resolution for future reference. Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning. Requires a thorough knowledge of networking essentials. Strong IP addressing and subnetting skills required. Strong network troubleshooting skills required (including network services such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc.) Cisco Switches & switching methodology Cisco Routers & routing methodology Cabling (both copper and fiber optic) Firewalls (Cisco ASA and PIX) Network Admission Control LAN technologies (Working knowledge of: EIGRP, VLANs, private VLANs, trunking, port security, routing fundamentals, switching fundamentals, quality of service) WAN technologies (Familiarity with: DMVPN, VoIP over WANs, GRE tunnels, Quality of Service, NHRP, BGP, etc.) Experience with Routers, switches, firewalls, proxy servers, wireless controllers & APs, security devices (IDS, IPS, etc.) Certifications: CCENT required (CCNA/CCNP/CCSP/CCVP preferred) Education Requirements: Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or two (2) years of relevant experience.
