SAS Programmer Analyst
SAS Programmer Analyst Location: Cranston, RI Duration: 6+ months (strong potential for extension) Summary: This candidate will be responsible for coordinating changes to computer databases and batch processing, test and implement code changes on the database, developing SAS macros. Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Test programs or databases, proactively recommend database enhancements, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions . Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. Requirements: Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge in SAS Windows Environment and Unix Environments, SQL Experienced in developing and using SAS Macros Proficient knowledge of Unix Scripting, Macros, Functions, batch processing. Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel , Access, MS Word). Experience in addressing query performance and modifying application code to remedy performance problems Demonstrated experience in using relational data architecture. Test case design, performing testing and validation of new code prior to release. Coding to departmental standards Presenting and reviewing work with peers and business line personnel Experience resolving data quality assurance issues in connection with information delivery and development tasks . Communicate directly with vendor business analysts, data modelers, business clients and warehouse developers to confirm requirements and clarify business rules as they are converted into application code Review business requirement and project initiation documents and personally author functional and/or technical specifications as required Take ownership of assigned project issues and coordinate through to resolution
