POSITION OPEN AS OF JUNE 15. Major entertainment company in Culver City is looking for a Business Intelligence / Business Objects Business Analyst to work on a 1 year contract. The BI / BO Business Analyst will: - Be responsible for requirements gathering, design, coordination, testing and support of customer Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and analytic needs. - Have detailed knowledge and understanding of Business Intelligence functions including but not limited to Analytics, Data Mining, Reporting and Dashboard Development. Responsibilities: - Coordinate and lead business requirements gathering meetings with Management and business users - Translate business requirements into reporting/analytical requirements and create the functional specifications document - Work as a liaison for BI initiatives between business users and IT team members - Develop reports to support data analysis needs of business users within the company, including both ad-hoc and pre-defined reports using data from the data warehouse - Use analysis methodology to estimate time and duration of BI projects; prepare and manage BI Project Plan - Participate in creating architecture diagrams and systems documentation that can be understood and used by business users and IT team members - Assist in training and provide guidance to business users on BI toolsets. Assist business users with self-service report development. - Follow and implement BI best practices and architectural standards. Identify and implement best practices to communicate and publish metrics through dashboards. - Coordinate data validation and dashboard prototype tests with business users - System support and issue resolution - Analyze issues, discover root cause, and provide alternative long term solutions to resolve Job Requirements: - 3-5 years of proven business analysis experience - 3-5 years in Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse - Experience with business process reengineering and architecture - Dimensional Modeling - Metadata Management - Data Modeling experience with Visio, Erwin, or similar toolsets desired - Experience with an enterprise report writing toolsets desired - Experience with ETL tools desired - Certification in BI Tool desired
