Our direct client is looking for a Print Output Management Solutions Engineer. Serves as the lead technical consultant responsible for design, engineering and development of information technology solutions. Supports the design, analysis, development and implementation of engineering infrastructure solutions of projects and/or work requests for complex business solutions. Troubleshoots and proceeds on resolving infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, customer expectations, etc. May be involved in the creation of design specifications and the development and application of utility programs and may resolve infrastructure compatibility problems as they arise. Responsibilities may include risks assessments, partnering on capacity planning, budget forecasting, and the diagnosis and correction of application/network problems. May serve as the primary contact for vendors. Technologies span mainframe, midrange, desktop, server, network data, voice, messaging, web, database, and output/receiving. Required Skills: Experience with setting up Print Output Management Solutions with middleware, e.g., RSA MISPrint, Solimar, BARR OMS, IPPD (Info Print), and Emtex VIP, PI Output Manager, VDE and Flex. Certification and/or at least 5 years working experience with and knowledge of primary PDL (page description languages): AFP, Xerox PDL: (LCDS, Metacode, and DJDE), Postscript, PCL, & EBCDIC. Advanced knowledge of and prior experience with variable print programs. Working knowledge of and prior experience with Print Forms Creation using Adobe, Elixir, Quark, and Planet Press software. Network analysis experience including TCP/IP stack, and hardware including switches, routers and bridges. UNIX experience, with experience in shell scripting. SOLARIS preferred. z/OS Mainframe familiarity including JES2, FSS,FSA, MVS, PrintStream. Incorporating the capability to analyze hex data. Database experience: SQL, Access, and/or Oracle preferred. Programming experience in the areas of TSO, MVS JCL, DASD, SDSF, ISPF, File Aide, Quick Job, Answer report, and a major programming language, e.g., C, C + +. Thorough understanding and ability to navigate through the Microsoft environment including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access. Ability to troubleshoot computer and printer problems and resolve issues. Ability to work an extended schedule as necessary to support production. Skilled in organizing workload, establishing priorities and effectively communicating the work status . Ability to compose technical documents and translating at a higher level complex concepts and systems. Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least four, typically six or more years experience in all phases of infrastructure network management or its equivalent in education and work experience.
