Location: Atlanta Status: Contract Compensation: Submit Competitive Rate Education Level: Not Specified Network Engineer (Systems Administration/Monitoring) opportunity working in downtown Atlanta with an organization who's making a difference! Great location in the middle of everything - 6+ month contract (will then assess extension/conversion to perm). You will maintain monitoring systems and applications and capture/create metric reports to track performance for all critical applications and hardware used to support a Data Center. You will ensure error notifications are acknowledged, mission critical Servers are available and operating 24 hours a day/7 days a week, assist with server administration, maintenance and upgrades. You will also run production jobs as scheduled, diagnose and resolve problems according to procedures, escalate problems when necessary, recommend hardware and software that will optimize systems performance. Additionally, you may develop server operating procedures, participate in development of disaster recovery plans, participate during troubleshooting and vendor analysis, share skills with other server administrators and provide guidance when needed, and carry a mobile phone out of hours on a rotation within the team. Active Directory Services, enterprise management experience. Enterprise system monitoring tool experience (various tools). Microsoft SQL Server. IIS. Windows Server 2000/2003 Administration. SAN architecture and technology knowledge. Backup software and strategies (CommVault is a big plus). Disk configuration and use of RAID with NT. Understanding of performance, backup and security issues, and registry settings. MCSE certification. PREFERRED SKILLS: CommVault or VMWare are big pluses. Windows Server 2008 is a plus. Microsoft Configuration experience is a plus.
