Senior Wireless Network Engineer Successful individuals in this role will be experienced senior network engineers with a strong background in Layer 3 technologies, who work well and communicate effectively with others, are self-starting, creative, and able to think through a project from start to finish. Senior Network Engineers are expected to take total ownership of our network; from architecture, design, and documentation through deployment and maintenance. The Sr. Network Engineer must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems; and be able to manage today's complex networks - whether it’s working with core technologies, optimizing infrastructure, or keeping key applications secure and performing efficiently. This position requires excellent problem management and customer service skills. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology; or equivalent experience. Three years’ experience in network design, implementation, operations, maintenance, and security using Cisco routers, switches, and security devices. Experience with 802.11 (A, B, G, N) and Wireless Access Points, handheld wireless devices, and other handheld technology Requires functioning as lead worker performing essentially the same work as those directed, and includes overseeing work quality, training, instructing, and scheduling work. Responsible for creating Standard Operating Procedures and network documentation. Advanced skills and knowledge in best practice IT network systems, which affect the design and implementation of major programs and/or processes organization-wide. Independent judgment and decision making abilities are necessary. Work requires advanced certification as a CCIE or CCNP. Contract to perm in Durham, $50-55 hr and $85k.
