Hours: 7:00AM - 3:30PM Volt Workforce Solutions has a Temp-to-Hire opportunity available in Royersford, PA for a Tool and Die Maker to work in a Machinist - Journeyman role for Machine Spindle Finishing and Assembly. This role you will produce precision spindle assemblies by fixturing, setting up, and operating manual OD/ID grinders, surface grinders, hones, milling machines and lathes. This Tool and Die Maker position is also needed for the assembly of components to create custom precision machine spindles and to maintain quality and safety standards; keeping records as well as maintain equipment and tooling. Job Responsibilities: Plans machining operation by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Sets up grinders, hones, mills and lathes and creates fixtures and tooling as needed, installing and adjusting existing fixtures and chucks, installs tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops; and indicating fixtures. Calculates speed and feed requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. Loads machine by lifting stock into position. Measures and verifies settings and parts by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces utilizing: micrometers, calipers, bore gages, height gages, indicators, CMM, comparators, etc. Plans assembly operation by studying blueprints, 3D computer models, and work instructions. Assembles and fits high precision components using hand tools, and press. Tests and validates product performance. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Documents actions by completing setup sheets as well as production and quality logs. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Occasional overtime may be required.
