Senior MicroStrategy Consultant (Attn: ND)
A MicroStrategy Architect is desired for a new project within the financial industry! A resource is need to optimize the performance of the reporting application while also supporting capacity planning, and tuning for the various members on a range of projects. The Architect will take ownership of all aspects of MicroStrategy (9.X) administration for projects, servers, user and security administration. The incumbent will be supported by other IT resources and business users / customers. Other responsibilities include: - Managing migration of development, QA and production Microstrategy projects and objects. - Providing technical support; troubleshooting report design; monitor system usage and proactive troubleshooting. - Serving as a technical expert providing input to application design regarding production tuning and administration requirements. - Develop Dashboards, Reports, assisting report developers, and participation in load testing exercises. - Interacting effectively with internal stakeholders including Sr. Directors and vendors. - Setup and Manage Brownbag or User training sessions. - Providing best practices for MicroStrategy Implementations. - Facilitate report requirements sessions and documentation. - Provide weekly status report, Issues and risks Qualifications: - The role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; and five years of experience across MicroStrategy architecture and design. - 7 + years experience as MicroStrategy Architect and Reports Developer. - Hands on experience with performance tuning VLDB, data warehouse database design and modeling. - Experienced in administration of MicroStrategy Web and Intelligence servers in a UNIX/Windows environment. - Demonstrated proficiency in Intelligence Server configuration settings, and experience in performance tuning. - Experienced in multi-tenancy - i.e. supporting multiple business clients and multiple MicroStrategy projects on same underlying architecture. - Comprehensive knowledge in the MicroStrategy BI tool suite (I-Server, Architect, Desktop, Web, OLAP and Report Services). - 7 + years hands-on Administration experience with MicroStrategy 7i / 8.x/9.x including Desktop, Architect, Administrator, and server support. - Comfortable working in a production environment with change management, defect tracking and status reporting processes. - Strong UNIX and SQL skills; shell scripting preferred.
