Infrastructure Engineer
Our Denver, Colorado client is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical support and guidance in the operations and maintenance of internal/external IT infrastructures; working as part of a team to develop team capability in specific area(s) of technology in-line with company strategy including its affiliates and subsidiary companies (individually or collectively) globally. Main Duties: To provide detailed technical guidance in initiating service and infrastructure improvements To take responsibility for support calls and own until a satisfactory conclusion is reached Utilize and champion agreed delivery methodology/ies and tools To undertake trend analysis for own area(s) of responsibility, making recommendations and implementing changes, as appropriate within the company's strategic direction To act as a technical authority in the analysis of enhancement requests and recommend changes as required To be responsible for liaison & collaboration with internal/external teams & service providers to ensure delivery of technical operations & services To produce and present agreed Business Cases to facilitate service and infrastructure improvements To produce technical designs and specifications To be aware & responsible of the impact of technical solutions in relation to risk, cost and company strategy To provide advice and guidance with skills transfer, as appropriate, within relevant area(s) To develop and maintain knowledge, skill and competencies in more than one technical area To abide by change control procedures in-line with company best practices and policy To take a pro-active role in identifying any issues, performing root cause analysis and possible solutions that may arise within an assignment and communicating these to the manager and customer as relevant Actively produce system, administrative & process documentation in-line with company defined standards Required Technical Skills: Cisco UCS EMC Storage Dell MD Storage Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 Microsoft SQL Physical db 2000/2005/2008 Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/7 Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 & Outlook Microsoft Systems Centre Operations Manager/ Whats Up Gold Active Directory Administration End-point security Virtualisation technologies including VMware & MS Hyper-V R2 Storage, including data back-up technologies & concepts Administration and Reporting Disaster Recovery Services and Procedures Project management experience of international complex multi-sites. Personal & Organizational Skills: High analytical skills Good communication skills, written and verbally across all level of the business Strong, resilient individual capable of dealing with the typical tensions that arise within a IT service environment Excellent organizational skills Good problem solving skills with the ability to follow written & verbal instructions Fluent communicator with the ability to communicate and present at all levels Confident & customer focused Easily adapts to differing cultures Team player, with drive and enthusiasm Customer Service focused Highly organized individual Language: English - fluent Ability to travel Internationally as defined by the Business Education & certifications: Educated to Degree level (preferred) in a Computer Science subject or related equivalent. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience of working in a Global IT Organization Project management experience of international complex multi-site IT infrastructures Experienced in designing, building, deploying and operationally maintaining complex IT infrastructures on a global basis.
