We are seeking an experienced VB.NET developer with a minimum of 5 years experience using Microsoft development tools and practices. This is a potentially long-term assignment in midtown Atlanta with an enterprise-level, Fortune 500 company. The ideal candidate will have an excellent grasp of the .NET Framework (2.0 and higher) and VB and experience working on a large (20+) team enhancing and supporting mission critical systems. We are seeking self-starters that are flexible and can change gears rapidly to contribute where needed in an area where the work is fast-paced and dynamic. Strong communication skills and client facing experience are essential. Required Skills: Good understanding of user interface design principles Thorough understanding of the .NET framework (2.0 and higher) 5+ years experience with n-tier architecture development and Windows desktop development. 5+ years experience coding in VB.NET language for desktop applications Good verbal and written communication skills Strong problem solving skills Strong debugging, coding, and analysis/design skills Ability to produce high quality code for mission critical application High level of initiative and attention to detail Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus Demonstrated ability for coming up to speed on unfamiliar technologies Desired Skills: Some experience with ASP.NET and C#.NET Writing SQL statements and stored procedures against a high transactional database.
