NETWORK ENGINEER This position is responsible for designing, supporting and maintaining the corporate wide LAN/WAN environments. This individual will provide technical network expertise across a broad range of platforms and technologies and as such must have a broad range of technical knowledge and experience. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing implementation of network systems from standard design templates, providing third-level troubleshooting and problem resolution on an as needed basis, reconciling and auditing network inventory reports from CiscoWorks, Solarwinds and other available systems. In addition, the Network Engineer will be responsible for working with staff, senior IT leadership and business partners to formulate, maintain, and communicate a cohesive network strategy road map. OVERVIEW: Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service by making sure documentation gets updated as required, customers receive follow up on any network issue and tickets are properly handled Adheres to policies and procedures to help all Colleagues insure proper use of company networking assets Ensures that these things are done while putting all customers (internal and external) first and displaying: o A healing focus o A selfless heart o A tireless resolve All efforts must have the well-being of customers and colleagues as well as the business as the top priority MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as lead for deploying, configuring and monitoring network equipment, network usage and systems availability Provide lead support and troubleshooting for IP technologies, including but not limited to, network connectivity, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, HSRP), VPNs, Load balancing, and QoS Provide lead support and troubleshooting for Layer 2 technologies, including but not limited to, Ethernet (Switched, FastE, GigE), Spanning Tree, VLANs, VTP, Trunking and Virtual environments Provide configuration and troubleshooting support for Switches, Routers, Citrix Load Balancers, VPN concentrators, ASA Firewalls, Firewall Service Modules and Aruba Wireless Controllers Provide 3rd level troubleshooting and problem resolution Participate in development of design and architectural strategy to include technology standardization and modernization Collect and analyze data about the performance and capacity of the network and its components Assist IT security personnel in monitoring, reporting and auditing network enterprise Develop design standards and guidelines, and collaborate with other peers and architects on IT best practice solutions Provision orders to carriers for access and network services Make sure that Service Level Agreements are adhered to by the carriers Project management of Network initiatives required REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years' experience supporting a medium to large size, multi-site network Proven ability to communicate effectively with IT colleagues and management personnel 5+ years' experience in coordinating network equipment break-fix resolution Cisco knowledge in routing, switching and implementing virtual environments Real world experience implementing large virtual farms, specifically Cisco's UCS platform Experience working at an enterprise level with BGP, EIGRP and QoS environments Experience with Cisco Nexus product line preferred Experience implementing real world VoIP solutions (Avaya and/or Cisco) Excellent communication (both written and verbal) Organizational and analytical skills Ability to interact professionally with colleagues and management Excellent leadership skills and the ability to unify and empower multiple groups to achieving the same goal Ability to interact with technical staff across multiple systems and disciplines High degree of self-sufficiency, ownership, and pride of deliverables Project management skills Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent related professional experience This contract position will be approximately 7 months in duration.
