Position Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for the System Integration team consisting of: 3 JV support resources, 6 shared resources, and 10 SOW staff members Managing vendor contracts accounting for $5M budget annually Responsible for implementation, platform evolution, and system integration Main job responsibilities include: - Manage Operation and Tuning of Systems, Servers and other System Integration related components to ensure high levels of availability and security of the core organizational applications - Leads the planning and implementation of system monitoring, maintenance and support of all networked software and operating systems - Manage end-user support and troubleshooting of applications and software - Manage and Support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers - Investigate and Qualify potential areas in which to introduce new services - Conduct Research on Client/Server hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts - Manage to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases and other mission-critical systems - Coordinate the implementation of policies, procedures and technologies to ensure system security through secure system access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations - Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems: develop and implement strategies for improving of further leveraging these systems - Define and implement strategies for integrating disparate operating system environments - Collaborate with technology team members, end users, and other stakeholders to integrate systems and other data together - Determine required network components to ensure data access, as well as data consistency and integrity - Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems - Communicate application issues to key stakeholders, including management and end users - Manage to perform and test system backups and restores to ensure system recovery from error or outage - Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues on all systems - Monitor, test, and tune system performance - Recommend and execute modifications to systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability and performance Required Experience: - Extensive experience in managing operations of a large scale application with multi-vendor environment - Extensive experience in vendor management in the area of operations and testing. - Experience supporting applications in the fields of online media, cloud service, and storage solutions - Good understanding of video encoding, delivery, and distribution technologies - At least 2 years of experience evaluating and providing recommendations for IT solutions - Hands on knowledge of system administration and management, with focus on Linux RedHat Ent. 5.5 or higher Server administration configuration, management - Hands on experience and solid understanding of scripting languages (shell, pearl, etc*), and software deployment and remote management capabilities such as Yum, parallel SSH - Experience of Windows system administration and management, with focus on windows 2008 administration - Knowledge of MS IIS 7, .NET Framework environment, MS clustering, SQL 2008 with in depth knowledge of installation, configuration, tuning, and ongoing administration of the above technologies - Solid understanding of MS Active directory, user accounts, group policy management - Automation capabilities including strong shell scripting (bash Windows shell, Perl, log parser, and VB). - At least 2 years of experience with storage solutions including SAN, NAS, and NoFS solutions. - Understanding of typical load balancing approaches and configuration, Firewall operation, including network and port translation troubleshooting. - Good understanding of a software development life cycle, with IT architecture and application design experience - Ability to work well under pressure in a large and complex environment Desired Responsibilities: - Good communication skills, initiative - Good Knowledge of Video and Audio compression techniques and transmission protocols over broadcast and IP networks. - At Ease, Effective Verbal and Written Communication.
