Our Fortune 500 Insurance Services client in NYC is creating a top-tier team of multi-disciplined analytic professionals to enhance enterprise wide business performance. This team will proactively address on-going strategic questions across all of the company's key functions with the goal of transforming the shape of the industry. These are contract-to-hire positions. Would prefer ndividuals with advanced skills in logic and math and who have ideally engaged in some form of predictive modeling. Also, big pluses include candidates with background in Insurance, Claims, Fraud, Subrogation, Collection & Recoveries, Operations, legal expense, litigation management, cost analysis, etc. Purpose of Job: Support the end-to-end model development process from problem identification through data gathering, analyses, gaining consensus, and implementation into business practice. Mentoring of junior analysts. Job Functions/Responsibilities: 50% Performing detailed data / statistical / financial analysis using pre-defined framework. Mentoring junior analysts on such tasks. 30% Collaborating with Developers to define scope and business requirements to implement recommendations 20% Summarizing analyses and preparing materials for business case or presentations Typical Minimum Experience: - Experience performing analyses independently under a pre-defined framework, particularly involving large data sets, including building and/or applying statistical models - Providing support in the development practical business recommendations and evaluating associated financial impact - Preparing data and tables for presentation of analyses - Effective collaboration within cross-functional teams - Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects - Attention to detail - Strong oral and written communication skills - Working knowledge of computer software and tools (e.g., relational database management systems, MS Office) - Understanding of financial concepts
