Project Manager- Biotechnology / Pharmaceuticals
Act as liaison and coordinator of project team members to ensure overall success of the Life Science Global Assay and Application Development projects in Danvers, Massachusetts as well as Miami, Florida. Have responsibility for coordinating successful completion of Assay and Application Development projects on time and on budget, by identifying and coordinating the expertise of all required disciplines. Develops work breakdown structures, identifies dependencies, creates and assesses time and budget estimates, analyzes critical path, analyzes risks and constraints, identifies resource requirements, builds detailed plans and teams for project portfolio. Identify and manage project issues and schedule conflicts. In addition, facilitates and maintains short and long term resource planning for Global Assay and Application Development staff as well as provides G.A.A.D. department resource planning up to overall Life Science Development team. Ensure team members are aligned and appropriately supported and trained in standard project management, project risk, risk impact and risk mitigation processes. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, project team leaders and members and support staff. Foster teamwork, respect, and a healthy rapport with all co-workers. Specific Functions: Manage any project related tasks for Genomics Facilitate development of and manage the project and program schedule for the Miami based Research Reagent Team Facilitate and manage resource planning efforts for all of GAAD with initial focus on Flow and then CE-MS as well as feeding all necessary information into the Development estimates The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Strong technical expertise - use technical experience to support and interact with scientists and marketing to support product definition, project scope, risk management, and design control activities Must have demonstrated project management experience in a stage-gated product development program Experience in a Life Sciences Company is preferred Must have a clear understanding of work breakdown structures Five or more years of experience developing and managing project schedules using MS Project as well as advanced understanding and experience using MS Excel Excellent time management, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects, meet demanding deadlines, and adjust to sudden changes in workflow Strong problem solving skills Advanced degree in Science or Technology (Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field is preferred), but not required Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute is highly desirable At present there are three (3) general areas that need additional support: Genomics, Flow Research Reagent Pipeline Team and Resource Planning.
