The Business Systems Analyst works as an IT Liaison between IT, Corporate, Branch, and Divisional Business Units. The BSA is expected to become an SME on matters pertaining to IT and the business. The BSA is expected to assist in the identification of projects, assist in the prioritization of projects, and ensure that the IT group is working on items that align with the business unit initiatives. Responsibilities: Confer with branch, corporate, and divisional personnel to analyze current procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized for reports and analysis Collaborate with Developers and SMEs to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs usability and performance needs Write detailed functional descriptions of user needs, program functions, and interface with the developers to create or modify existing applications Perform unit testing in concert with the Developers; this will include documentation of any errors or deficiencies and interfacing with the Developers to resolve those issues Document and execute system performance, and user acceptance test plans to ensure that the system changes are error free and meet the approved requirements and designs Participate in the development effort as the business unit project manager; this responsibility includes the production and tracking of project timelines and the creation/update of project status to the business unit as well as the Management Team Prepare user documentation as part of the development effort The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Strong analytical and product management skills are required including thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of a Project Manager Be responsible for developing ad hoc data downloads for analysis
