We have restored the vmdks and delta files for an exchange 2010 windows 2008 server that now need to be manually put together so that we can bring the vm back up to the state it was as of the time it went down. There was a volume change so the parent child disks no longer point to each other. According to the documentation and forums the vmdk descriptors need to be modified so that the files all point to each other. Please reply if you have had experience doing this and provide some information about your experience and a synopsis of how you plan to restore the vm.
