Right now we are assisting one of our clients in the search for a Network Support Specialist in Ft. Meade, MD on an 11 month contract. (position will not go beyond 11 months) -A+ Certification Required -Security clearance or ability to get one interim is required. This position is primarily responsible for providing technical assistance to maintain contracted levels of system performance. Additional responsibilities include: Assist the DOIM (Director Of Information Management) or designated representative in matter relating directly or indirectly to the achievement of contracted levels of system performance. Survey, analyze, evaluate, and provide technical advice/trouble resolution pertaining to the performance and functionality of the vendor installed system. Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to the site DOIM personnel. The performance of these functions will be conducive to site personnel becoming self-sufficient in maintaining and operating the installed system. Maintain contracted levels of system availability and performance, utilizing the Intelligent Operation, Administration & Maintenance (IOA&M) trouble resolution tools and other GFE furnished by the government. Maintain configuration management. Perform emergency replacement and configuration of failed or upgraded network components procured under the contract. Assist and advise DOIM personnel in all warranty related actions to include, providing instruction and assistance to the site personnel in the timely preparation and shipment of defective components to the prime contractor's plant for repair, replacement, or exchange. Prepare and submit Monthly Status Report (MSR) in duplicate to the installation or site DOIM for his review and approval. This report will lay out the monthly activities performed in the support of the I3MP program at the installation. Requirements for this position include: Knowledge and experience installing, managing, maintaining, and trouble-shooting, data network systems; including Gigabit Ethernet, switching, hubs, routing and QOS protocols, firewall policies, intrusion prevention, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) network and host based, trouble-shooting VoIP systems and Wireless Data Networking. Pay Rate: $30.00/hour (W2, no benefits) Experience with Cisco works LAN management and Cisco Access Control Server.
