Software Quality Assurance
The SQA Engineer is responsible for the implementation of test plans for internal websites, internal applications, and tools as well as 3rd party software applications on a project release basis. The role applies advanced testing techniques, structured SQA methods and process improvements to enhance overall software quality. Responsibilities: Create, execute and maintain test cases for internal websites, internal applications, and 3rd party software applications Create test plans and develop test strategies Work with test leads to develop task breakdowns, work assignments and schedules, resource and training requirements, and risk assessment Participate in project sizing and requirements review process Create summary and detail reports based on test results, test coverage, test pass progress and defect trends Use defect tracking system to report software defects and work with developers and analysts on problem isolation and resolution Verify bug fixes and close bugs Mentor and train junior-level SQA team members Contribute to test process development and improvement Education and Experience: Minimum four years of software testing experience Working knowledge of SQL; ability to perform SQL queries Ability to work effectively in dynamic project environments Ability to effectively represent the SQA group among other functional groups Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral Working knowledge of formal testing methods and practices, including structured testing methods and software metrics Familiarity with formal SQA evaluation methods across the software development cycle: design analysis, implementation review, and debugging Ability to structure organization to optimize operational efficiency A BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, related field or demonstrate equivalent training or business experience
