The program entails building new hardware/software infrastructure and working with the migratration of existing applications to the new infrastructure. Responsibilities: Creation of operations-environment design and build-out Work with various teams to execute infrastructure readiness testing. Assist with application/platform performance tuning Deliverables: All documentation regarding Linux architecture Detailed server architecture diagram for the Linux environment Physical and logical diagram Linux deployment diagrams on a virtualized environment via VMware Infrastructure and operational readiness test documentation Qualifications: At least 4 years of experience playing a lead technical role in successful data center optimization/virtualization: Extensive experience with Linux and Solaris Experience in designing and architecting different types of cloud management platform Experience with designing a Disaster Recovery solution Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware and Solaris Zones/LDOMS) Hands-on experience with RHEL on VMware Experience working within Oracle database environments with emphasis on an Active-Active configuration Hands-on experience with various web applications (Oracle http, Apache, J2EE, and WebLogic) Previous systems administration experience and aptitude in an enterprise environment Experience with Java/J2EE application Servers which include Oracle WebLogic Experience with remote access and file transfer tools such as FTP, SSH, and RDP Knowledge of standard network protocols, global load balancing, and firewalls in a Cisco network environment Extensive experience designing and architecting highly available, secure, scalable hosting infrastructures Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions and tools including clustering and load balancing Experience with SAN (VPLEX is a plus) and NAS technologies CIFS, and NFS protocols Strong management, collaboration, and team building skills as well as demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff Excellent analytic, organizational, and facilitation skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve, or escalate issues and risk, direct priorities, all under tight deadlines Ability to operate across multiple tasks concurrently and assume the responsibility for the appropriate technical and architectural implementation of projects
