Job Responsibilities: This position will manage a staff of 18 team members, including employee, shared, and contract resources, with focus on managing the testing and quality assurance execution and processes within the technology function. This position will be responsible for managing a $5 million QA budget in SOW contracts, and testing equipment. The primary job responsibilities include: * Develop overall project test plans including System / Integration, end-to-end, test data management and UAT * Review and approve test artifacts, including test cases, test data and test results * Participate on Enhancement teams; participate in all phases of approved enhancements; ensure a full, consistent understanding of enhancements by all stakeholders from a testing perspective * Review and approve test artifacts, including test cases, test data and test results * Act as a primary contact to coordinate the resolution to problems arising during business system initiatives by facilitating the issue, change and defect management process and maintain associated logs * Develop and manage close partnerships with senior level technical and business leaders * Drive the implementation of standard QA tools and processes supporting business testing while ensuring consistency and improved quality * Stay current with new technologies, platforms, development methodologies and business processes to recommend and influence effective use of testing practices * Look across departments for process and technical improvement opportunities; lead and/or participate on teams to drive, identify problems and implement solutions and controls Required Skills & Experience: * Extensive experience in managing operations and testing of a large scale application with multi-vendor environment * Extensive experience in vendor management in the area of operations and testing * Extensive knowledge of testing automation capabilities and tools including HP Quality Center, HP Performance Center, Soap UI, Load UI * Experience supporting applications in the fields of online media, cloud service, and storage solutions * Good understanding of video encoding, delivery, and distribution technologies * Minimum of 2 years of experience evaluating and providing recommendations for IT solutions * Hands on knowledge of system administration and management, with focus on Linux Redhat Ent. 5.5 or higher Server administration configuration, management * Hands on experience and solid understanding of scripting languages (shell, pearl, etc*), and software deployment and remote management capabilities such as Yum, parallel SSH * Experience of Windows system administration and management, with focus on windows 2008 administration * Knowledge of MS IIS 7, .NET Framework environment, MS clustering, SQL 2008 including installation, configuration, tuning, and ongoing administration of the above technologies * Good understanding of MS Active directory, user accounts, group policy management. * Understanding of typical load balancing approaches and configuration, Firewall operation, including network and port translation troubleshooting. * Good understanding of a software development life cycle, with IT architecture and application design experience * Good Knowledge of Video and Audio compression techniques and transmission protocols over broadcast and IP networks. * Ability to work well under pressure in a large and complex environment * Ability to explain deployment, usage, and troubleshooting instructions, conduct online and in person training, and write sound technical documentation. * Analytical and complex problem solving skills, and self-learning, Strong ability to rapidly narrow down software bugs in complex environments * College degree required or equivalent work exp.
