We are searching for a Data Migration Specialist for design and development of data migration and data integration scripts. LOCATION Commerce, MI COMPENSATION 25-37/hr (6 month contract-to-hire) EDUCATION Computer Science degree (or equivalent) REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS 3-5 years experience in data migration, script writing, testing, deployment, and lifecycle maintenance of commercial grade applications. Strong experience working with T-SQL and SQL Server 2008. Experience with relational database design concepts. Experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures and user-defined functions. Experience in any of the following a plus: XML, XSLT, C# REQUIRED BUSINESS SKILLS Entrepreneurial creativity and attitude Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and pick up new skills/technologies OVERVIEW Developer will be creating database scripts for a commercial web application built on the Microsoft .NET framework. More specifically, developer will be writing scripts to migrate customer data from a proprietary, legacy data model to a new data model. Create T-SQL scripts to migrate customer data from one SQL Server data model to another SQL Server data model. Create SQL data views, stored procedures and user-defined functions to support reporting solutions. Collaborate with users/developers to implement Extract, Transformation, and Load (ETL) process, programs and scripts. Design and develop underlying data structures for application reporting. Assist in testing and deployment of scripts and of additional features and functionality as needed.
