I need a 12 v battery charger. I have several schematic designs, but need some expertise to evaluate these or design a better one. I have been using lantern batteries (2-6 volts) but they are almost obsolete and difficult to find. I need advice on which type of battery to use as a substitute.(SLA, Ni-CaD, Lithium?) The batteries are used to drive a small water pump that is used only about 10 minutes per day. The pump draws less than 1amp. The pump works well when connected directly to a 110 vac-12 vdc wall mounted transformer (16vdc actual output-1,000 ma.) directly. Thanks, Harry Gilbow, Belmont, CA.
