Temp to Perm Technical VoIP Engineer Purpose: Growth of existing systems as an expert on Voice over IP technology, primarily Cisco Call Managers systems. Provide expert technical assistance for VoIP growth of networks, System upgrades, and new equipment purchases. Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Cisco Call Managers, gateways, Unity, Unity Connection, Contact Center Express, and review necessity of Gatekeepers and how to incorporate into our global network. collaborate with network engineers and administrators to ensure that VoIP traffic does not interfere with or hinder network data traffic, maintain and consolidate circuit level voice IP drawings, provide VoIP related engineering & operational support to subordinate elements when necessary, update, troubleshoot, and process incoming Help Desk/ trouble tickets while maintaining standard SLAs for resolution of voice and data tickets, perform preventative maintenance procedures to ensure equipment has latest authorized releases, patches, and/or fixes applied to meet information assurance requirements. Level 2/3 support of Voice/Data Networking equipment including off hour/weekend on call support and secondary administrator for the Video Conferencing service and technical management MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Cisco Call Manager ver 7.x, UCCX Contact Center, Unity, Unity Connections, Cisco Nexus 7000, Nexus 1000 VMotion, 6509E, 4507, 3750, 3500, and 2900 Series Catalyst Switches, Cisco ASA Firewall, VPN, Cisco PIX PDM, ASDM, Cisco 7200, 3900, 3800, 2900, 2800 , 2600, Series Routers, Cisco Works 2007 Network Monitoring and configuration management tools, and Riverbed Steelhead Wide Area Acceleration devices. Required: CCNA; CCNA-Voice Knowledge of subnetting, switching and Cisco IOS is essential. Solid background and knowledge in network security procedures, to include the ability to identify intrusion (monitoring devices), report attempts and prevent further access by unauthorized personnel. 5+ years of practical experience working with various voice and data (network and system) technologies, with a minimum of two of those years focused on VoIP technologies. Candidate must be able to work maintenance weekends, one day/weekend per month. Rotate on call after hour support with other team members.
