Leads the industry in solid rocket propulsion systems, satellite components and subsystems, lightweight space deployable and solar arrays. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of our nation's capabilities in space. Requirements: o Review engineering drawings, procedures and specifications. o Develop manufacturing plans used for machining, welding and testing of titanium & nickel alloy hemispheres and assembly components in support of space flight applications in compliance with customer specifications. o Prepare planning, routing and other critical manufacturing documentation required for manufacturing operations. o Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Skills, Knowledge &Requirements: o BS Mechanical Engineering or related industrial discipline plus 7 years experience within the aerospace industry. Preference given to individuals who have experience in the metal fabrication processes including hardware, machining, welding and testing of metallic materials, i.e., titanium, aluminum, nickel alloy fabrication and composite materials. o Ability to check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning o Experience/skills with root cause and corrective action. o Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface with production technicians, engineers, and customers. o Experience working within an Integrated Product Team of engineers and technicians in a manufacturing environment operating to ISO quality standards o M&P and Lean or Six Sigma methods and evidence of application experience preferred o Willing to work in a hands on environment. o Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving. o Ability to apply current technology and/or aid in development of new technologies.
