I'm looking for a talented Java developer who is comfortable with automated test framework and it's subsequent development. This client is the largest cable operator and home internet service provider in the United States. POSITION SUMMARY: TEKsystems client's Enhanced TV (ETV) Application software engineering group is seeking a developer (or test automation engineer with the necessary programming skills) to assist with system integration and development of automated testing for various interactive TV applications. This role requires developing and refining test automation frameworks and test cases in a complex environment including cable set-top box software and 2-tiers of servers. Only engineers with solid programming skills will be considered. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Evaluate software requirements to define a test automation strategy and approaches for ETV applications. - Code detailed tests for automated functional, integration, stress, load, and performance testing. - Implement new aspects of the test frameworks and refactor existing aspects to improve overall system robustness. - Provide mentorship to more junior Java programmers on the team, including conducting code reviews. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED: - 2+ years of Java programming experience. - Experience writing automated test cases in TestNG, JUnit, or similar frameworks. - Knowledge of IP networking technologies - Experience with at least one J2EE Application Server Environment (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, WebSphere) - Expertise working in UNIX/Linux environments. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION DESIRED: - Background in automated test methodologies and approaches. - Familiarity with XML, XSD, and XSL. - Solid understanding of Agile software development and testing methodologies. - Familiarity with basic Maven or Ant builds tools. - BS or higher degree in Computer Science Join TEKsystems() and get your career on the fast track.
