Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover)
To provide key marketing support to the Sales and Marketing Director in the delivery of the tactical marketing activity to meet the company’s B2B objectives and marketing strategy. The role has responsibility for researching, proposing and driving the implementation of Select & Protect’s tactical marketing communications agenda through a diverse range of activity to the intermediary channel (B2B) This will involve a full range of marketing activity generally experienced within the B2B financial services / insurance market. Key activity will focus on support delivery of the annual marketing and communications plan and supporting the Sales team by way of marketing in pursuit of the business’s annual goals. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Working closely with the Sales and Marketing Director, the role holder will provide a comprehensive marketing service with the objective of supporting the marketing strategy and tactical activity for a range of stakeholders: Primary customers – Brokers, Partners (Networks and business partners, Insurer partners) To be responsible for proposing and implementing marketing tactics to meet agreed company objectives in conjunction with and led by, the Sales and Marketing Director Take responsibility for aspects of campaign activity from scoping, planning, approval, and implementation to post campaign analysis across a broad range of media and channels including: · Advertising – print & on-line · Public relations · Direct marketing (mail, email, telemarketing, etc), working in conjunction with the Sales function for specific campaigns · Trade shows, conferences and seminars · Collateral and sales tools · E-marketing, including website and e-mail · Sponsorship · Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results to the Sales and Marketing Director Work with the Sales and Marketing Director in the management, development, content and functionality of the B2B websites for primary customers encompassing: · Responsible for deliveringweb projects e.g. implementation of promotional initiatives and campaigns through B2B channels such as brokers and key accounts · Collaborate with internet campaign planning and management on developing and testing integrated campaigns involving integration and development to implementbespoke landing pages, on-page promotions and incentives, prize draws and competitions for B2B · Work with the wider senior management team within Select & Protect and the Group in all aspects of developing our B2B front end offering To integrate, lead on and implement social media plans for Select & Protect To develop and implement marketing plans for products that launch out of the product development cycle Manage, develop and execute on product development as agreed with the Sales and Marketing Director Evaluate B2B customer research, market conditions and competitor data To manage all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution relating to Marketing activity To achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all available media as agreed with the Sales and Marketing Director M anagement of relationships with external suppliers including communications agencies, publications, exhibition contractors, printers, etc Manage and maintain strict control of budget for all marketing communications activities.Provide regular updates and trend analyses to the Sales and Marketing Director regarding budgeted versus actual spending or changes to budget and to deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget Key aspects of the job are: · To utilise Marketing and Campaign Management for the profitable development and implementation of B2B campaigns r esponsible for the marketing of company products and services to the right market · To deliver these campaigns in a timely manner · Coaching / mentoring of Marketing Executive · Oversee the management of the Select & Protect B2B website with campaigns and major developments · Documentation completed for all campaigns to create an audit trail for enquiries and future learning · Carry out ad hoc projects ensuring delivery within given timescales and costs · Support the Sales team in their day to day marketing requirements, producing items as appropriate to generate sales and awareness · Write and produce the bi-monthly Select & Protect newsletter distributed to brokers · Manage and implement Select & Protect attendance at various events and exhibitions during the calendar year as appropriate · Build, maintain and manage a competitor information library, directing the Marketing Executive as appropriate Knowledge/Skills/Behaviours · Be highly organised, an effective communicator, able to work under pressure and must be able to manage a number of concurrent projects · Have strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to dealing with a range of individuals. Practical experience of Project Management would be an advantage as is experience in using a range of computer packages. Good communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate at all levels · The job-holder should have a professional qualification ideally in Marketing and must have been working within a marketing environment · Have experience working with data for marketing purposes and fully understand, and be able to apply, the key principles of database marketing · Excellent organisational and communications skills as evidenced through projects running within allocated timescales and relationships built with internal customers and external suppliers · The ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and also initiate and implement ideas that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing activities · To demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees · Proactively establish and maintain professional, effective internal and external relationships that meet company core values · Creative idea generation, and collateral development as well as copy writing, and problem solving skills · Good presentation skills · Ability to multi task and adapt to changes at short notice COMPETENCIES Personal Development Performance Driven Effective Communication Teamwork Initiative and Innovation Embracing and managing change Planning and organising Customer Focus Mental Agility and Decisiveness Qualifications: A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent to include Mathematics and English.
