Research Methodologist #JD – x2012-04-005 If this position is of interest to you, please email your resume to jdillon@makecor.com (or call 630-376-0646 and ask for Jenna) Location: Chicago, IL Duration: ASAP – 10/31/12 Job Description: This position is responsible for helping to design rigorous research studies on the impact of business interventions; planning statistical analyses; working on multiple project tasks in support of the design and implementation of analytic solutions; interfacing between various business and technical teams; reviewing research design plans; providing technical leadership; working closely with customers to build relationships; and continuously gaining a deeper understanding of relevant data, design and analysis techniques, and processes to build analytic solutions to meet business needs. Job Requirements: Master's degree plus 5 or more years of relevant work experience Experience designing experimental and non-experimental (observational, quasi-experimental) studies Familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R) Knowledge of statistical analysis, regression modeling, and other advanced analytic techniques (e.g., regression, factor analysis, cluster analysis, statistical tests) Ability to conduct methodological literature reviews and to investigate new analytic techniques Demonstrated ability to effectively and independently interface with customers and business partners Excellent English communication and writing skills Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision Candidate must have advanced study design skills, especially designing experimential and non-experimental (observational) studies Candidate must have statistical analysis knowledge Job Preferences: PhD degree Healthcare industry or other insurance industry experience Knowledge of healthcare claims data or related data experience (e.g., experience with CPT, NDC, and ICD codes) Research publications and presentations at professional conferences
