Business Systems Analyst (Project management, workflow analysis) Houston, TX We have an opening for a business systems analyst in Houston. This person will be responsible for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications. Competent to consider most business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment. The Project Coordinator (BSA) will be responsible for providing support to the Program Management Office (PMO) to manage program control and administration and actively participate in activities during the life cycle of the project, including the analysis and planning, execution, and control phases. Functions/Requirements: At least 3 years experience in project management and/or workflow analysis Prior experience in a project coordinator role Experience generating and analyzing reports in various software applications (Excel, SharePoint, Project) Ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality & compliance w/ established project standards Experience with project financial activities (ie expense reconciliation, invoice tracking) and basic accounting practices Experience with system development life cycle methodologies Experience with basic productivity software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) Experience with advanced Excel features/functions (e.g. pivot tables, formulas, macros) Experience with project management software (ie MS Project) Experience documenting, revising and maintaining workflows and organizational charts using MS Visio Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills Ability to navigate complex workplace environments Ability to work independently and follow written directions Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
