Fundraising Officer
We are looking for a flexible and experienced fundraiser who is passionate and enthusiastic with a good sense of humour and a friendly personality. We are working for children and young people in Africa to improve their quality of lives by increasing access to comprehensive primary health care, escaping bonds of poverty and hopelessness by providing education, life skills, values and a caring environment that will empower them to successfully move into the mainstream of society. We are ideally looking for a minimum commitment of two days per week (home based). Although this will be an unpaid role (as all our funding is used for good causes!) we are willing to provide good references, your name included on our website, newsletter and other relevant publicity. Main duties will include but are not limited to: write and submit trust fund applications - research charitable trusts and foundations - coordinate the activities of a grant program that supports the needs of the charity - contact businesses, clubs and professional organisations to get funding - organise boot sales or stalls at fairs etc - help with organising our annual fundraising event like disco or music nights, comedy shows or concerts, placement of collection boxes in shops and restaurants etc – soliciting for donation of items of value to auction - marketing us through Visits, leaflets, emails, calls to companies, schools, clubs and organisations –attending networking events to get donors- find volunteers to run marathons etc and set up sponsorship events .
