The end client technology will be HTML/CSS/JavaScript covering most browsers all the way back to IE6 (fingers crossed we will drop IE6 in 2012) but the pages will be built on the server using FreeMarker. Marketing does a bunch of the HTML/CSS so while the ISD UI developer should be proficient in making layouts work for all browsers efficiently using best practices ideally the UI developer will focus on FreeMarker to get data to the UI and JavaScript and jQuery to do all the DOM manipulation on the client, Dynamic layouts, transitions, swapping data, making ajax calls, etc. We’re looking for a web UI developer to work in a professional team environment in Boston , MA . Development usually entails turning static design elements in to functioning, unique data visualizations using FreeMarker, HTML, CSS , JavaScript and other UI technologies Technologies Required FreeMarker, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX , HTML/ CSS , Subversion Bonus Technologies HTML5, Flash/Flex, ActionScript 2 and 3, Java, Maven, Flex Mojos, Hudson/Jenkins, Mobile development for iPad or iPhone, Python, PERL Responsibilities Develop interactive, dynamic, standards based, data driven web applications in a team environment using subversion as a central repository Construct, unit test, debug and functionally verify user interface programs, modules and classes of high complexity Work with Business Analysts to ensure that technical design and programs satisfy business needs Work with Designers to ensure pixel perfect implementations and brand cohesion Integrate UI code end-to-end with N-Tier Java backends with both on and off-shore development teams Assist with system size, performance, security and peer UI code evaluations Ensure code quality and fortification Qualifications Formal training in UI application programming languages and real world enterprise implementation and related 4 year degree Implementation experience including unit testing, ScriptDoc/JavaDoc style commenting, automation and knowledge of secure coding techniques. Good, clean coding practices Strong analytical and problem solving skills 5+ years related UI development experience Familiar with application architecture, three-tier architecture and design patterns A solid understanding of cross browser/cross platform limitations and solutions. Experience working with Flash/Flex with ActionScript 2/3, Java, Maven, Flex Mojos, Hudson/Jenkins also nice to have Experience developing applications supporting older browsers including IE6 Make sure that candidates are OK with talking about the possibility of going PERM.
