Red Hat Linux / Solaris Administrators
Our client is currently seeking Red Hat Linux / Solaris Administrators for a 6 month RTH opportunity. Assuming this role, you will work closely with the internal technology team and the customers' technical resources to help support a large-scale, growing web-based application and related services Linux/Unix environment. Primary Responsibilities: Performs moderately complex systems. Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance Work closely with database administration, and application teams in troubleshooting daily issues in a development, test, production, coop environment Oversees appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages while adhering to customers' policies and procedures with proper coordination Plans, coordinates and directs appropriate level data refresh strategies on a quickly growing and expanding environment virtual and physical with redundancy production and coop environments Oversees, recommends and implements appropriate level system hardware and software solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance Oversees and applies appropriate support packages/patches to maintain system integrity on a quarterly level in the Solaris 9/10 and RedHat 4/5 OS Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. Oversees the maintenance of repository of system-Standard Operating Installation and configuration of software, releases, patches, and post install validation - following a strict change control and release process Document and maintain server, network, and support documentation including application diagrams Red Hat Linux / Solaris Administrator Qualifications: Highly enthusiastic, self-motivated Linux/Unix Systems Administrator who will be a core member of the technology team Strong skills in building, testing, and managing high availability, mission critical infrastructure Dedicated problem solver who can multi-task and prioritize tasks in a constantly evolving and demanding environment Work well under pressure, has a strong sense of ownership, can-do attitude, urgency and drive Requires a Linux/Unix technological foundation and the highest level of responsibility Minimum of 3+ years of Linux/Unix experience BS in Computer Science or related field Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship.
