PE Global is looking for a Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist for a client in the UK. This would be an hourly rate contract position. Role:  This role is a key part of the supply chain and responsibilities include: Composition of the bidder’s list and the strategy through which to approach the market Undertaking due diligence to mitigate external supply risk from supplier selection through to contract execution and management. Using knowledge of commercial contract law to develop and sign off pertinent contractual terms and conditions Leading commercial / contractual discussions with suppliers Identifies, implements and realizes value through effective ‘strategic cost management’ utilizing best in class methods and tools and mitigates business risk through ensuring rigorous contract management controls Routinely communicates openly and with integrity to key business stakeholders to ensure alignment of the Supply Chain and the internal customer  Requirements: Experience required in standard Supply Chain Management functional processes Systems and tools in project performance and category management. Previous experience in Engineering industry (Oil and Gas preferable but other industry sectors considered) Ability to work proactively with minimum supervision Ability to set and meet own objectives and deadlines Good teamwork skills and experience of working in multi-discipline and multi-company teams High level of self-motivation and enthusiasm Track record of delivery in project environment Interested candidates should submit an updated CV, marked for the attention of Ken
