I can't imagine any concept artist worth their weight that will actually go and design concept art at risk in a contest-type environment, so this will not be available as a contest. I am writing a book. It is set in a post-apocalyptic earth, for want of a better term, and is fiction. I am looking for a book cover to be drawn/designed/illustrated. I will be publishing electronically at first, and perhaps going to print-on-demand later, so I would like it to be done at 300ppi in the following dimensions: 15.75" x 9.75" (40cm x 24.76cm) for image-wrap/case-wrap style covering. Obviously the right "half" of the image will be the main cover, and the left half will be the back (with about 1.6"-3" in the middle of the image that would go on the spine). The main "action" will be on that right half, with the left half being more a quieter continuation of the scene. No text will be placed on the image, as that will be done later on. I will require the final output to be in a high-quality lossless (or not-too-lossy) image format, maximum quality JPG or TIFF is acceptable. I will provide the first two chapters of the book and a bit of insight into where the story is going in order to set the gears in motion, and unless it is really off the wall and not what I'm looking for I won't ask for a rework and will accept the work as evidence of a strong creative mind. The successful bidder will not need to submit an actual illustration for this project, but I will need to see samples of work they have done.
